Suan wins the Red Dot Design Award for the Rebranding of Derendinger.

The rebranding of Derendinger was awarded a Red Dot in the Red Dot Award: Brands and Communication Design 2024. With this project, Suan succeeded in impressing the Red Dot jury with the high design quality of its work. Our Basel-based branding agency can therefore count itself among this year's winners of the world's most prestigious design competition.


Red Dot Award 2024
Every year, the Red Dot Award: Brands and Communication Design honors the best brands and communication design projects. In 2024, the submissions in the field of communication design were evaluated in 18 competition categories and in the field of brands in 38 sectors. 24 jurors came together live to view and evaluate each project and brand individually. Based on various criteria and against the background of their socio-cultural background, their professional focus and their design expertise, they decided which submitted designs and brands met the requirements for a Red Dot Award. This year's submissions came from around 55 countries. As different as the projects are, they are united by their design quality, which has now also been confirmed by an internationally recognized and independent panel of experts. Evaluation criteria are weighted according to the type of project and form a framework for orientation: 

In the Brands area: 
Idea: Vision + brand values
Form: Design + brand communication
Effect: Brand identity + differentiation

In the area of Communication Design: 
Idea: Originality + Creativity
Form: Design quality + innovation
Effect: comprehensibility + emotionality

The Rebranding for Derendinger
The Derendinger, Technomag, E. Klaus, Normauto and Matik brands belonging to the Swiss Automotive Group (SAG) have merged under the new “Derendinger” brand. The result is a completely new brand world. Together with the client, Suan revised the brand strategy and designed the target groups. On this basis, a new brand was created, which was met with enthusiasm by both Derendinger and its customers. With the new look, Derendinger has made a radical visual change. The first thing that catches the eye is the bright color: lime. A strong yellow with a pinch of green. The color stands for dynamism, future orientation and commitment. All values that fit perfectly with the new brand. The bold, fresh color accent clearly sets the Swiss market leader in the vehicle parts aftermarket apart from the competition.
